PCI Compliance in Wintix
The most important change in Wintix is that credit card numbers are encrypted to meet PCI compliance. If you are audited and do not comply, you can be put out of business very quickly. Just ask your bank or credit card processor.
Other Changes and Improvements in Wintix
This is the first re-engineering of the back end in six years and includes many new and valuable features. Still, the program retains its simplicity and ease of use.
- 100 groups in the mailing list – with version 3, you were limited to only 10 groups.
- You have three user-definable notify flags – version 3 only had one flag.
- Unlimited remarks in the sales records. You can make as many notes as you need. With version 3, you were limited to 250 characters.
- Seats are now listed in a separate field as part of the sales record. This is useful for doing mail merges to renewing subscribers.
- Audit trail of the sales history: this is a history of the sales record. This lists all the changes, seats, exchanges, tickets printed and customer changes. Every change is logged with the date and time, Wintix and network logins and computer used for the changes. This audit trail cannot be edited, only printed.
- Encrypted credit card numbers: credit card numbers are stored in an encrypted format. Access to the information is controlled by the password permissions on a need-to-know basis. This is required under PCI compliance regulations.
- Reminder to back up.
- Domain offsets for the off-sale time: user can determine off-sale times for each domain before the event goes off-sale in the box office.
- Added fields for spouses first and last name.
- House manager alert report: intended for those sales that need special attention by the usher.
- Customer receipts and performance summaries now in emailable PDF format.
- Many of the more popular reports can be sent to screen, printer or email.
- Mailing list supports spouse first and last names, second address and apartment.
- Addition of GL (General Ledger) field under the Shows menu to track sales on a per account basis. Shows can be tracked on a per theatre basis, as well as on a per day basis or a range of dates.
- Accounts receivable has a pay-all agents option.

- Tixsales is still part of the package. Tixsales is now a 32-bit Windows program.
